Ironwood is Australia's newest historically informed performance group crossing the boundaries of old and new. Ironwood is a flexible ensemble of world class musicians who are based in Australia and perform at an elite level, exploring the sound of chamber music on gut strings.
Adelaide-born Sophie Rowell is first violinist of the acclaimed Australian String Quartet and one of Australia's finest violinists. Since winning the Symphony Australia Young Performer's Award in 2000 she has performed as soloist with all the major Australian orchestras. Sophie has also been Guest Concertmaster with the Adelaide, Melbourne, and Tasmanian Symphony Orchestras.
Graham Abbott is a renowned conductor, educator and radio presenter. He has been a frequent guest conductor with all of Australia's major orchestras and opera companies. Through his weekly radio programme 'Keys to Music', Graham is educating an entire generation of the joys of classical music.
Lucinda Moon is one of Australia's finest baroque violinists, admired by audiences nationwide as concertmaster of the Australian Brandenburg Orchestra from 1995 to 2008. Lucinda has also performed and recorded with many leading baroque groups including the Elysium Ensemble, Chacona, Adelaide Baroque and Salut! Baroque.
